“1, 2, 3 Trojans! 4, 5, 6 Family!”
For generations of PHS athletes, those words were more than a chant. They captured the teamwork, dedication, encouragement, and sense of family Coach Mary Ann Hill instilled in everyone she coached.
A dedicated Pottstown educator, Coach Hill retired from teaching in 2020 and continued coaching PHS Track & Field through 2021, closing out a legacy of more than three decades. Her influence reached far beyond the classroom and the track. She taught her students and athletes the value of hard work, perseverance, leadership, kindness, and lifting one another up.
Because of her dedication to the student-athletes, particularly those who participated in track and cross country, the Foundation for Pottstown Education was recently approached by Pottstown High School alumni regarding creating a scholarship in honor of Coach Mary Ann Hill, whose impact on generations of students and student-athletes was profound. We’re proud to help bring this tribute to life through the Mary Ann Hill Memorial Track Scholarship.
About the scholarship:
This annual award will go to a graduating PHS senior who has competed on the varsity track and field team and plans to attend a two-year or four-year college, or an accredited trade or vocational school. The recipient will reflect the values Coach Hill championed: dedication, sportsmanship, leadership, and a commitment to uplifting others.
Above all, this scholarship celebrates the belief that success isn’t measured only by individual accomplishments, but by the positive impact we have on those around us.
How to support the scholarship:
We invite former athletes, Track & Field alumni, friends, and members of the Pottstown community to help build this scholarship fund. Gifts of any amount will support future generations of Trojan student-athletes.
