FPE Early College Program Graduates 13 PHS Class of 2022 Students and Recruits 21 for Cohort
X PHS Class of 2024

In 2014, the Foundation for Pottstown Education started funding a new program that would help to
encourage more Pottstown High School students to enroll in college. This program is called the
Pottstown Promise Early College Program and provides funding for PHS juniors and senior to enroll in
the Montgomery County Community College where they can earn up to 30 college credits.
Since its’ inception, this program has had 94 student graduate with college credits, 93 of which have
enrolled in a college, university or enlisted in the military. The PHS Class of 2022 had 14 students
enrolled in this program and earned a combined total of 244 credits. Had these course been taken at the
students’ selected institution of higher learning, more than $238,700 would have been paid out to these
schools.
The following list of students are the graduating seniors from the Class of 2022 who were enrolled in this
two year program:

The Foundation also announced the selection of 21 students who will make up Cohort X of the program.
These students were selected based on their grade point average, co-curricular activities, attendance
reports and an application which included an essay on how enrolling in this program would help them
now and in the future. This is the largest class in the ten years of the program’s existence. They will
begin their classes in the fall semester at Montgomery County Community Campus, Pottstown. They are
enrolled in English 101 and Introduction to Psychology.
