The Junior’s Book Nook Club is a monthly after-school program at Franklin Elementary. Junior is a therapy dog trained to work with elementary students. During the program, students will read to and interact with Junior and work on crafts with monthly themes. During January, students made valentines for the residents at local nursing homes. Future projects include random acts of kindness coupons, compliment cards for National Compliment Day, Earth Clean Up Day and knock knock cards for World Laughter Day.

The Student Grant Program funded this project. Student grant projects are developed, presented, and selected by the students in the school. The books purchased through this funding deal with dogs, pets, friendship, and community service.
