The Foundation for Pottstown Education approved a funding request from High School Counselor, Michael Pagano, which covered part of the fees associated with the Advanced Placement (AP) testing. The amount of this year’s funding was $3,075 and enabled 68 Pottstown High School students to take these tests. Some students take more than one test.
Through the tests the students can earn college credit based on how well they have done on the tests. The tests are completed in May but students will not know the results of these tests until July. This is the second year that the Foundation assisted in the payment of these tests.
Last year the Foundation provided more than $5,400 for 141 tests. The students earned 87 credit hours enabling the students to save more than $51,000 in tuition.
